Imaginary Friends, Digital Acquaintances and Artificial Lives
Do you know the difference between food and food products? Do you know the difference between organic human interaction and human interaction products? In this world, not many do.
Food equals edible objects and substances that are naturally occurring in nature –– in other words, human physiological fuel of a natural composition, composed by Mother Nature –– the designer and creator of human physiology.
Food Products, on the other hand, are so-called “edible” objects and substances that have been highly industrially-altered, manufactured, or recomposed from any natural composition –– and in many cases polluted with complicated chemical ingredients, dyes, fillers and preservatives of a synthetic signature rather than naturally occurring.
It is the case of whole and natural foods versus partial, artificial, superficial and virtual foods. It’s easy to see the difference between the two and how/why each could affect our health differently. True?
If that distinction is very clear to you, I'd invite you to a self-examination. Check out your daily human interactions in this modern age. How many of them are whole and natural interactions versus partial, artificial, superficial and virtual? Is it also just as easy to see the difference between the two and how/why each could affect your emotional health differently?

An egg is a food. Mayonnaise is a food product. Sugar cane is a food. A Skittle is a highly-processed food product. Cow pieces are a food. Bologna and hot dogs are highly-processed food products. Edamame is a food. Tofu is a food product. An orange is a food. Orange soda-pop and artificially flavored orange popsicles are highly-processed food products. The distinction is clear.
Having a diet largely filled with faux food, i.e. food products, can lead to very real diseases. Having a diet of human interaction largely filled with faux human contact, can lead to very real emotional dis-ease, deep dissatisfactions and emotional degradation.
But can you truly recognize the subtler differences between human interaction and a highly-processed human interaction product today? Face-to-face conversation with a friend over a cup of tea is organic, natural, whole human contact. Skype is a human interaction product. A live seminar seated next to live human participants before a live seminar leader is organic, natural, whole human contact. Facebook Live is a highly-processed human interaction product.
Having a diet largely filled with faux food, i.e. food products, can lead to very real diseases. Having a diet of human interaction largely filled with faux human contact, can lead to very real emotional dis-ease, deep dissatisfactions and emotional degradation.
Eating a diet dominated by faux food can lead to nutritional imbalances. Living a life dominated by faux human interaction can lead to emotional imbalances.
These faux physical food/fuels or faux emotional food/fuels are still calorie dense but nutritionally stripped or nutritionally mis-combined. It's all built to seem like food but isn’t really.
Therefore, in the long-run, our real health suffers because we are not “doing food” the real way it was organically intended by the seminal engineer of our original body architecture, our bio-chemistry, and socialization –– Mother Nature. This is referring to emotional food/fuels as much as physiological food/fuels. Both sustain our lives.
Today, the countries who have the most advanced human interconnectivity tools seem to be the ones with the most lonely, suicidal and emotionally disturbed citizenry
Today, the countries who have the most "advanced" food technologies seem to be the countries most rife with unnecessary and unnatural disease epidemics –– diseases they now consider normal to human life. Perhaps, Cancer, Diabetes and Heart-Disease are not.
Today, the countries who have the most advanced human interconnectivity tools seem to be the ones with the most lonely, suicidal and emotionally disturbed citizenry –– individuals who have accepted their private suffering as normal to human life. Perhaps the disconnection and loneliness that leads to suicide, mass-killings by the emotionally disturbed, and drug-addicted masses spending billions trying to blunt the pain of their emotional realities, are not normal phenomena to human life.

Today, we live in a very faux, inorganic world. Today, we have become very faux, inorganic people. In some cases, what we call human civilization seems to be at literal war with all things “nature” and “naturally occurring.” Even though the supposed intention of our technologies is to upgrade our lives instead of degrade them, the old proverb still stands true –– regardless of our gigabyte capabilities and processing speeds –– “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
...smart technology in the hands of the matriculated dumb, leave us worse than we were before we applied these juvenile technologies to our self-inflicted lives.
We often think that the things we find in nature are too simplistic and offer us too little as is. So we bring our simplistic intelligence to things we think lack the complicated intelligence to satiate human need –– missing the supreme intelligence inherent in the misleading simplicity which often contains intricacies and intricacies of complicated intelligence far beyond the intelligence we currently have to even notice it.
Therefore, we alter and manipulate, and alter and manipulate until we ourselves are effectually altered and manipulated –– unrecognizable to all things organic, natural and optimally functional.
Bottom line; smart technology in the hands of the matriculated dumb, leave us worse than we were before we applied these juvenile technologies to our self-inflicted lives. What was meant to augment, accessorize or supplement our lives has become primary, and oppressive. Welcome to modern life.
Addictions to the affections of your Instagram page or addictions to the affections of your cats or puppies do not effectively replace the emotional nutrition found in whole, healthy, happy, human relationships.
Examine the truths of your emotional health in this digitally connected world. Examine the truths of your physical health in this industrially processed food world. Is your health less than whole and fulfilling because you are consuming less than whole foods? Might be.
Is your emotional health less than whole and fulfilling because the majority of emotional interaction in your life is filled with less than whole, organically human interaction and contact? Might be.
Only you know the answers. I’m just here to give you the powerful questions that can lead to powerful improvements in the quality of your life. Those ignored pains in your body and ignored pains in your heart truly tell the whole story.
Addictions to the affections of your Instagram page or addictions to the affections of your cats or puppies do not effectively replace the emotional nutrition found in whole, healthy, happy, human relationships. Seek them. Cultivate them. And watch the health of every segment of your life blossom in ways you could have never predicted.
Mother Nature had a plan for our physical and emotional health. Maybe it’s time we follow it more, instead of thinking we know better. We obviously AF don’t.
