Avo Bliss: The Vegan Midday Snack That Always Wins [Recipe Included]

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a confessed workaholic. Anyone who really, really knows me knows that’s the truest story ever told.

And yes, I know I need a more balanced life, etc. I welcome all of your emailed lectures about it. I'll put them in the file with the other 142 from my mother, k? Smile. 

Besides. I’m working on that –– as in, ahhhh, working on not working so much. With this extra to-do item, I’m busier than ever now. In the meantime... 

I’m always looking for strategies to help the productivity of my day go smoother without a bunch of aggravating interruption. And the main aggravating interruption is food. What to cook. What to eat. How to not fall asleep from food coma afterwards. Where's my non-profit personal chef?

If I’m hungry and have to stop and make a meal, it’s a real problem. Main reason being, I swear I don’t know how to make a meal for less than 40 people. Remember that whole "workaholic" thingy? Yeah, well I definitely cook like one. With like, no chill, over-freakin-doing-it as usual. And those gourmet feasts mid-stride of my day completely savage my schedule.

Therefore…

Simplicity is a savior. And simplicity is what I've found. Here’s my #1 go-to midday solution: I call it Avo Bliss.

1. Grab a ripe avocado. Grab a knife.

2.) Split it oval wise.

3. Bury your knife in the pit and twist it out.

4. Grab your favorite hot sauce, Louisiana style, Mexican style or Thai Sriracha style. Grab some Dulse Seaweed Flakes.

5. Douse hot sauce onto the open halves of avocado.

6. Add Dulse Seaweed Flakes for a nutritional and flavor upgrade.

7. Add a sprinkle of Sea Salt (optional). Sprinkle a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional).

8. Grab a spoon. You're done.

9. Scoop little bites right out of the halved avocado skin and BOOM. It's delicious in a way that it shouldn’t be. You’re gonna split another one open, trust me.

Splitting a simple avocado in half, dressing it up and eating it has been a lifesaver for me –– as in a “timesaver” –– because workaholics don’t have lives. 

But ever since I discovered this little midday tactic I’ve been able to keep my to-do list on-track without a lot of drama. If you like avocados, you’re going to love this. It’s the perfect savory flavor and sustenance to hold you down between meals. Not to mention... That’s a 4-min healthy snack!

Instructions:
