A Purpose Driven Week

If you are going to have a fulfilled life, no one is going to fulfill it but you. And human fulfillment comes from lives lived on profound purpose.

If you are going to have a fulfilled life, no one is going to fulfill it but you. And human fulfillment comes from lives lived on profound purpose.

What would make this a successful week––for you? What would make this week a complete loss––for you? A person who is awake and in control of their lives knows the answers to these questions.

If we are being honest, most people are living life lost in the depths of unconsciousness. And some of us (in all of our intelligence and fancy jobs) are those people.

Living in the depths of unconsciousness means living a life asleep to how asleep we are, or living a life unaware of how unaware we are. It’s that mentally checked-out life. The drone life.

It’s that busy Monday through Saturday, running around like a chicken with its head chopped off life––a frantic body unconsciously performing habits and routines and meetings with no intelligent assessment as to “why” or “what for”. Just running and running with no true, clear, personal aim nor clarified purpose. It is living a life that is driving you instead of you driving it––having no idea what a personal win this week looks like, because of having no true idea of the personal goals of our lives––just going through the conditioned motions.

This is a common life. We don’t want this kind of life. It’s a life being dominated and operated by everything and everyone else, except the human who owns the life.

In order to own this week of your life, you must know why you are living it and for what aim. In order to know that, you must know why you are living this month, and for what aim. For that answer, you must know what this 6-month segment of your life is all about. And for that, you must know what you have declared this year for––to accomplish what, to gain what, to create what?

If you have a goal to walk from Los Angeles to New York, that clarifies the direction of all the months, weeks and days inside of this year. That would make the goal of the month, getting to Las Vegas. But you wouldn’t know that if you had not determined where you were going overall. You would not know that your goal of the week was getting from Santa Monica to East Lost Angeles. Without clarification of these broader goals, you would not know that your goal for the day was simply getting from the Pacific coastline to the eastern municipal border of Santa Monica. Clearly, all of these little destinations met, are taking bites out of the grander destination of New York.

Life purpose and life goals are the same way. They are little goals within one larger goal. They are little actions taken toward one larger declared purpose. And you cannot know if your week, your day, your hour is being lived on-track with your purpose until you clearly define and declare that grander life purpose.

Be of the few humans actually awake at the wheel of their lives, awake at the wheel of their week. Know the purpose of your life, the purpose of your month, the purpose of every second that ticks in front of you.

A purpose-driven week comes from a purpose-driven month––and therefore a purpose-driven year out of a purpose-driven life. Most of the purposes we are living are for the purposes of others, and something deep within us knows that, no matter how unconscious we are. This nags us. This drags on us. This eats away at us until we decide to get back on track––clear tracks that we have laid toward the personal destinations in life we have declared.

This is a reminder to override the sociological training we’ve all been given––to live as drones. This is an invitation to conscious living.

Be of the few humans actually awake at the wheel of their lives, awake at the wheel of their week, awake to the PURPOSE of their lives. Know the aims of your life, your month and every second that ticks in front of you. If you are going to have a fulfilled life, no one is going to fulfill it but you. And human fulfillment comes from lives lived on profound purpose.

Just facts.
