Beets & Berries Power Breakfast
Not all people like to burden their digestive systems first thing in the morning with a heavy laden breakfast. For decades (in America) the idea of a heavy meal at the beginning of the day was sold as the best way to fuel optimum physical and mental performance. During the Industrial Age, there could be an argument made for that. During this age––the age of the intelligence worker––that might not be the case.
A big clump of animal protein and complex carbohydrates might be useful fuel for a body that is about to perform strenuous tasks for the next 8-hours. However, if you use your brain for problem-solving all day, you might want your system to be light, nimble, efficient and unclogged with unnecessary gunk that could slow your mind down. For you, the knowledge-worker, a simple breakfast with easily accessible nutrition components is key. Here’s what I mean.
Liquified nutrition is a nutrition that is already available for cellular use. When bulked food is put into the system, it must go through an arduous process of converting it into liquid availability for cell absorption. That process is the digestive process––which takes an enormous amount of bio-energy away from other systems of the body to do its job. That’s why, after a heavy meal, one can often feel lethargic and even sleepy.
Therefore, a nutritionally-dense liquid breakfast is a powerful option to fuel your brain without slowing it down. If you have to perform physical tasks all day you might want to try this option as well, for an immediate energy boost.
Here’s one of my go-to options when I’m looking for a boost that doesn’t interrupt my work flow.
